Youth Whitewater Kayaking Day Camp (13-17)

 

Designed for youth who are interested in trying whitewater kayaking or continue to improve their paddling abilities. This beginner program focuses on fundamental technical and safety skills of whitewater kayaking. This week long day camp will take place from June 23rd-27th 9am-4pm on the Yukon River in Whitehorse.

YCKC provides kayaks, paddles and all the necessary personal safety equipment. Participants are responsible for their own warm clothing layers, lunches and snacks for the day.

Start Date: Monday June 23rd 
End Date: Friday June 27th

Beginner Takhini River trip: Saturday July 5th (all day)

 

After completion of the course, participants are invited (and encouraged!) to join weekly beginner drop-ins on the Yukon River. Every Tuesday - 6:30-9pm from July 8th until the weather decides it's over!

Canada Games Center Pool

Cost: CGC Day Pass

Club boats, paddles, helmets and PFDs are available to use, though it is recommended bringing a PFD for comfort.

If you are bringing a personal boat, please make sure it is clean and debris free.
